What is The Dad Conference?

The Dad Conference is an event where a range of extraordinary guest speakers provide information, inspiration, fun and action for dads in a number of areas relevant to them.

Where can I buy tickets?

Head up to the Pricing section of this homepage and select the ticket you wish to buy. Click the link and follow the instructions.

Do I need to print my ticket out and bring it with me?

That is totally up to you. We will be scanning the QR code either from the physical ticket you have printed out and brought with you, or on your mobile phone from the ticket that was emailed to you.

Does the name on the ticket need to match my name?

No.

Can I give my ticket to someone else if I can't attend?

Yes.

Can I get a refund?

No. However, you are more than welcome to give your ticket to someone else.

I've lost my ticket, what should I do?

Head to the Contact Us page and send us a message with your name and email address. We’ll cancel the old ticket and issue you a new one.

I'm having trouble buying a ticket, what should I do?

Head to the Contact Us page and send us a message with your name, email address and phone number. We’ll contact you within 24 hours.

Will there be tickets sold at the event?

Yes, you can buy tickets on the day. However, as this event is very popular and seats are limited, we recommend you secure your seat(s) before event day by purchasing tickets via the online ticket sales.

What time should I arrive?

Doors will open at 8.30am, and the event will start at 9.00am sharp. We will be starting at 9.00am, so please be on time.

We suggest you get there with plenty of time to spare so you can find the lecture theatre, have a cup of tea or coffee, meet some fellow attendees and find your seat before the first speaker comes on.

What time will it end?

We will do our best to remain on schedule and finish at 3.30pm.

Is there parking available? How much does it cost?

There is FREE parking available at Deakin University, located on Smythe Street.

Can I catch public transport to Deakin University?

The Geelong Waterfront Campus is well serviced by suburban bus lines that operate across Geelong and outer regions.

The main bus interchange is located in Moorabool St – 700 metres from the campus. However, there are a number of bus stops close by depending on your route.

Geelong train station is located just 400 metres from campus. V/Line trains operate throughout the day on the Geelong–Melbourne line and take just over an hour.

Train services to Warrnambool also depart from the Geelong Train Station and take around two hours and 20 minutes.

Is there disabled access?

Yes.

What are the photo and filming guidelines?

You are more than welcome to take as many photos as you like, but there is strictly no filming allowed.

Is lunch provided?

Lunch is included in the cost of the ticket. A selection of sandwiches, rolls, hot Asian food and quality pastries (homemade sausage rolls) will be available in the University cafeteria.

If that is not suitable, there are several takeaway shops close by. Alternatively, we recommend you bring your lunch and enjoy the sunshine and outdoor spaces the Geelong waterfront.

Is tea and coffee provided?

Yes, there will be tea and coffee available throughout the day, along with biscuits and fruit.

Will books and pens be available?

We strongly encourage you to bring your own paper and pens to take notes from the presentations of our guest speakers. We may have books and pens available, but don’t rely on it.

What happens to the information I submit when purchasing tickets?

Your name and email address will be added to The Dad Conference distribution list, and possibly shared with our guest speakers if they request it.
